Resign Academy, in collaboration with Subalterno1 and the on-line store Autoproduzioni Italiane, organized Manufacto, a series of workshops aimed to investigate the production potential, linked to the design, of some of the most important Italian excellent craftsmanship. The first stage of the project took place in Milan over the weekend November 15-17, 2013 at the historical Fonderia Artistica Battaglia.
The workshop took place in a magical lab where the wax turns into bronze, a place where 15 selected students had the unique opportunity to experience the design potential of the “eternal material”. During the three days we had the theoretical and creative lectures by Stefano Maffei, Stefano Caggiano, Carlo Contin and the Sovrappensiero Studio. The guests and the Resign tutor Magnani & Delvecchio will lead each student shaping their personal concepts. At the end of the 3 days, Subalterno1 will select a project, financing its production and putting it on sale in the on-line store autoproduzioniitaliane.com, giving to the selected student the precious and unique opportunity to follow the production and see the realization of his own idea. Asia Samimi with her project Mei won the first prize.
